The Bower at Stockley Park wins OAS Regeneration Award
The Bower at 4 Roundwood, Stockley Park has been named the Best Refurbishment/Regeneration outside Central London at the annual OAS Development Awards. The 151,000 sq ft HQ building, developed by Exton Estates, Clearbell and Rockspring, beat off stiff competition to win the prestigious prize, emphasising its status as one of the leading office buildings in the Thames Valley.
The Bower’s award category attracted more than a dozen entrants, yet judges said the building was chosen “due to the team’s ability to regenerate, remodel and extend a dated building to provide contemporary, flexible and striking office accommodation on a significant scale.”
The annual awards took place at the landmark Pavilion at the Tower of London and is the only event in the industry awarded by agents recognising excellence in office development, sustainability and transactions across the wider UK and City of London & West End Markets.
The speculative Bower building sits at the heart of West London’s Stockley Park and was completed in November 2016. The 1980s landmark underwent an ambitious back-to-frame redevelopment, extending the original office space by 25,000 sq ft and providing one of the largest floorplates in the Thames Valley.
Built to the highest standards, key features of the ESA Architects-designed building include a 6,363 sq ft full height atrium and reception and a reimagined central street connecting to a new public piazza. The building has been awarded BREEAM Excellent and EPC A ratings, highlighting its exemplary design credentials.
Exton Estates’ Stuart Bedford said: “This award recognises The Bower’s status as a first-class office building. It provides the type of imaginatively designed quality workspace today’s tenants demand and we are confident it will be a great success.”
